General Meetings

Date: Wednesday, December 27
Place:
EFA Headquarters Office
Time: 6–9 p.m. or thereabouts

The annual holiday party is a longstanding EFA tradition—an occasion for celebrating the season with freelance colleagues and their families.

It's a potluck buffet supper, so please bring your favorite crowd-pleasing appetizer, entree, or dessert to the table. EFA provides the beverages — wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea.

Writing Them Cold and Stopping Them Dead:
Crafting the Perfect Letter of Introduction

Tuesday, November 14
Guest Speaker: Jennifer McCay

One of the hardest things a freelancer does is introduce herself. Marketing strategist and EFA member Jennifer McCay will show you how to craft effective letters that net you more clients more easily.

Just one persuasive letter sent to the right prospective clients can mean the difference between freelancing feast and famine, so you need to ensure that your next mailing to prospective clients is on the right track. During this meeting, Jennifer McCay will walk you through the process of crafting a powerful sales letter that captivates your prospects and will get your phone started ringing.

A former ad copywriter/creative director responsible for marketing clients like Sony Europe and Adobe to the entire European marketplace, now Jennifer teaches independent professionals and small business owners how to use big-business tactics to get ahead on a small-business budget. Jennifer is the author of The High-Concept Brand Bible: Think Big, Find Your Focus and Achieve Small Business Success. Jennifer's articles have been appeared in publications such as Advisor Today, Holistic Business Journal, CEOClub, and WebProNews. For more information about small business marketing, head to Jennifer's Web site,AvenueEast.com
